A 5-ton Falcon 9 upper stage discarded by SpaceX is now headed toward the Moon, traveling at 5400 miles per hour, set to slam into the Moon on Tuesday or Wednesday August 4 – 5 (depending on your time zone) – 2:34 am US Eastern Time.
What these dysfunctional pseudo-scientist hooligans fail to consider is that Earth’s rotation and its seasons and climate are moderated and stabilized by the Moon. Earth’s creatures depend on the Moon. Ocean tides depend on the Moon. Attack and pollute the Moon, and it has a direct impact on the Earth. And that’s just from the purely selfish standpoint.
From a deeper perspective, all things are alive, and we are relatives of one another. The Moon is a sovereign living being and territory with rights. These are attacks on the Moon and life.
NASA, SpaceX, corporations, the aerospace industry, and US government treat space and our Moon as their objects of abuse and exploitation. When did our planet of beings even give them permission to commit these deplorable acts?
Most importantly, can Earth’s people stop this event?
What latent abilities do humans have? Can humans strand this rocket carcass in space, using their collective will and power, until someone can safely retrieve it and recycle it into something useful?
The time to act is now, as collectively as possible. to stop this injury to the Moon.
The aerospace industry claims, “We expect [impact] to vaporize the booster.” This is a lie. The ugly reality: the rocket stage will be crumpled, broken debris spread across the landscape from the deep impact trauma wound they — Elon Musk, SpaceX, NASA, the military-industrial complex — cause, hitting the “the western limb of the moon” (Forbes), “the western lunar limb” (ABC News) — personhood language used in media reports.
Go outside tonight and look at the Moon.
Stand up for the Moon before it’s too late.
